It was very warm so I took the shortcut home from school. As I jumped over the small stream I noticed a very strange looking object shaded by the big willow tree. What was it? Where did it come from? Is it alive? Maybe it could give me magical powers, I thought. Then suddenly...

How to enter:
Our writing competition is open to all children between 7 and 12 years of age. For your chance to win these prizes, 1st prize €50, 2nd prize €30 and 3rd prize €20, complete the rest of the story. And if you need any extra pages to write on, please click here. For children less than 7 years old, please draw a picture of your story instead. Closing date is 29th July. Cut-out and complete the entry form signed by a parent/guardian and post it to: Bord Gáis Energy, Tell us your story competition, PO Box 10943, Dublin 1.

Competition terms and conditions

  1. This competition is open to all children between the ages of 4 - 12 years old who send their completed entry by post to Bord Gáis Energy, Tell us your story competition, PO Box 10943, Dublin 1 by 29th July 2011.
  2. The prizes are: 1st prize: €50 one4all voucher, 2nd prize: €30 one4all voucher, 3rd prize: €20 one4all voucher. For children between the ages of 7 - 12 years old they have to complete the rest of the story, if they need more space please include an extra page. For children under 7 years old they can draw a picture of the story instead.
  3. The winners will be chosen by a panel of judges, from the list of entrants who have returned their completed entry signed by a parent/guardian by post by 29th July 2011. The judge’s decision on the winners is final.
  4. The draw for the prize will take place on the 8th August and the winners will be notified before 15th August 2011.
  5. Bord Gáis Energy does not accept responsibility for late submissions.
  6. One entry per person.
  7. The winners shall allow 28 days after the draw takes place for receipt of the prize. The prize will be sent by post to the child's parent or guardian on behalf of the child.
  8. The prize is offered as stated and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other prize
  9. Bord Gáis Energy is not obliged to enter into written correspondence regarding this promotion.
  10. The promoter is Bord Gáis Energy, PO Box 10943, Dublin 1. By entering this competition you give your consent to your child’s name (initial and surname) and address (county) and their entry being displayed on our website www.bordgaisenergy.ie.and/or printed materials should they win the competition.
