In the event of your natural gas boiler or natural gas appliance needing breakdown assistance, we offer you a Repair on Demand service. There is a 60 day warranty on labour for the work carried out and one year warranty on parts if required. On completion of work, we will ensure your natural gas appliance is working effectively and safely.
The standard cost of this breakdown service is €90 for the first 30 minutes on site, and €25 for each additional 15 minutes thereafter, not including the price for parts if required. The total cost of the breakdown service will be charged to your servicing account.
If parts are needed, these will be charged as extra. The Service Engineer will advise what parts are required. These may be carried in the van as part of general stock and will be fitted with your agreement however, you will appreciate that they cannot carry all parts as the range of appliance types and models is too extensive. If necessary, the service engineer will order the part and call at a later date to fit the necessary part(s) and you will be charged for the cost of the part and the time (labour) it takes to fit the part(s). You will not be charged a second call-out charge. To book a repair call 1850 632 632 or for more information, visit our Boiler Repair Section
The total cost of the service or a repair will be charged to your next Appliance Servicing bill. For more information, visit our Repair section.
We must operate an appointment system to ensure the smooth running of our services. Unfortunately, we cannot give specific appointment times. The Service Engineer will call any time during the appointment period agreed.
For appliance servicing, appointments are made:
Monday-Friday: 8am-11pm, 10am-1pm, 11am-3pm and 2pm-6pm
Saturday: 9am-1pm or 11am-4pm
It is important that access to the property is available for the duration of the appointment if required.
If there is no access when we call we will wait for 15 minutes. If after this we still have not gained access then we will charge €30 to your natural gas account for breaking the appointment and leave a card indicating the time we called and left, and what number you should call for a new appointment.
All our Service Engineers carry an identification badge with the company logo on it. If you are still in any doubt telephone Bord Gáis Energy on 1850 632 632 and they will verify the name of the person who should be calling out to you.
If you are usually able to see a pilot and it is out, it can be re-lit by following the instructions on the inside of the boiler panel. These instructions are also usually on the inside of the plinth of the fire if using a back boiler. If you are unable to re-light this pilot, we can send a repair agent as spare parts may be needed. Usual charges apply.

Also, if a minor has been left in charge of the house the Service Engineer will not go in until an adult is present. He will leave a card to show that he has called and the customer can telephone to re-arrange the appointment.
