Check your room temperatures, the ideal living room temperature is around 20°C, while the ideal bedroom temperature is 18°C.+ Make sure that doors leading to colder parts of your home are kept closed. Ensure that external doors and windows are kept closed so that heat is not wasted. Close your curtains at night as this will help keep the heat in.

During the day pull back the curtains on south facing windows and let the sun heat up the rooms. Prevent curtains overhanging your radiators as this channels heat towards the window. Put on a jumper and reduce your heating needs. Don't leave your electric blanket on all night!
