Can I request an early meter upgrade?

The ESB's smart meter rollout will focus on 24 hour meters. Customers can apply to ESB Networks for a prioritised installation of a smart meter.  For customers on non-24 hour meters, a change of tariff will be required if you wish to move to a smart meter.
