Final call for Donate a Library nominations!

If you haven't nominated a deserving local charity or community group for the Bord Gáis Energy Donate a Library campaign – it’s not too late.

Over 200 organisations have already been nominated by the public to each receive one of seven libraries, worth €1500 each. Applications close on the 18th December, so don’t delay.

This is the fourth year of Donate a Library, through which the energy company donates books and library equipment to worthy causes throughout Ireland. This year will see the twentieth library donated since the programme began, with recipients from all over Ireland including aged care facilities, schools, parish centres and support groups.

Ambassador for the Donate a Library programme this year, mother of two and long-time charity campaigner, Lisa Duffy said, “Enjoying a love of books and reading is such a simple pleasure. The Donate a Library scheme from Bord Gáis Energy facilitates this and gives charities and voluntary organisations the opportunity to benefit from this enjoyable pastime”.

All you have to do is nominate your chosen organisation at The judging panel consists of charity advocacy group The Wheel, Sinead Desmond from the Ireland AM book club and this year’s Donate a Library ambassador Lisa Duffy.

Claire Smith from Bord Gáis Energy said, "We're so delighted to have received so many nominations to date. There's still time to nominate though and make sure your worthy cause is in with a chance to receive one of these seven libraries. It couldn’t be easier – just nominate at before December 18th and we'll announce the winners in early 2016".
