We're Bord Gáis Energy, we’ve been in operation since 1976 and today provide gas, electricity and home care services to over 730,000 residential and business customers throughout the country.
As an energy services and supply company we’re committed to satisfying the changing needs of our customers and helping them transition to a lower carbon future.
Our main locations in Ireland are in Dublin and Cork but you’re probably more familiar with our sponsorship programmes and boiler service engineers who are out and about visiting homes, businesses and communities. You’ll know them from their helpful approach, their uniforms and their photo identification cards.
In July 2014 we became part of the global Centrica plc Group. Centrica is active in the energy chain − from sourcing energy to saving it − and this helps us operate more efficiently. You can find out more about our parent company Centrica.

Assets & Trading
Our trading team in Cork is responsible for the procurement and risk management of our gas and electricity supply. Team members in this unit are very analytical and they’re great at spotting opportunities, price trends and developing innovative solutions to manage risk and protect our assets. Our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team are based in Dublin and Cork and implement policies and procedures that ensure we operate to the highest safety and environmental standards.
This team look after the management of customer services for our new and existing customers. These services include: billing, credit management, customer experience, managing third party vendors and continuous service. In Customer Operations, we look for people who care about our customers’ experience and have the skills to answer their questions. This team also have billing analysts, credit controllers, vendor managers and data analysts.
Our finance teams are based in Dublin and Cork. Naturally they’re great with numbers so they look after accounts payable, procurement, treasury, tax, forecasting and risk.
People are their business. This team provide support to the business in resourcing, development, reward, pensions, employee relations, performance, payroll, engagement, change management, internal communications and employee data. Phew! This keeps them very busy and connected to colleagues throughout their career.
Digital Technology Services (DTS)
Our DTS teams in Dublin and Cork look after applications development, support and testing, project management, strategy & architecture and service delivery. Our tech team makes sure that everything runs efficiently behind the scenes.
Our legal team advises our teams on the legal implications of their day-to-day transactions with third parties and provides legal input into projects and initiatives. They’re the ones who dot the ‘i’s and check the T&Cs. They ask a lot of questions and detail is definitely their thing.
Our Regulation team develop, plan and execute regulatory strategies to help us all meet our business objectives and to comply with the relevant energy market and data governance regulations. They monitor, analyse and work to influence energy market developments in Ireland, Europe and internationally. They manage and develop our relationship with the various regulators, government departments and external stakeholders and represent us, and the Irish energy industry, at national and European levels.
Retail (and HomeCare)
The customer is at the heart of everything this team does. They aim to make it very easy for our customers to choose us for their energy supply by bringing new products and services to market that reflect our customers’ busy and demanding lifestyle. Our HomeCare team of Service Engineers are nationwide and ready to service and repair your boiler at a time that suits you.
