How is Covid-19 Level 5 restrictions impacting my bills?

During this time, Gas Networks Ireland and ESB Networks will continue to attempt to read outdoor meters where they can gain access to the meter without customer assistance. They will not attempt to read meters that are located indoors.

As a consequence of these current limitations, we would encourage our customers to submit readings regularly where possible through one of the following options:

  • For gas and/or electricity, you can sign-in to your online account to submit a meter reading. If you don’t have an online account, you can register.
  • Submit through Gas Networks Ireland and/or ESB Networks, just make sure you have your MPRN/GPRN number to hand.

*For all large business customers, your meter will continue to be read remotely.
*If you are a business LVMD electricity customer with an indoor meter, with customer agreement ESB Networks will continue to read the meter.
*If you are a business NQH electricity customer with an indoor meter, ESB Networks will leave a card to advise you on how to submit reading yourself.

Please note:
To help with the accuracy of your bills, we recommend that you provide meter readings where possible. The best time to provide a read is within five days of your next bill date. To find out your next bill date, simply follow this step by step guide.
If you provide a read outside of the five day window, the read you submitted will not be used to calculate your bill. However, this read will be used by Networks to improve the accuracy of your next estimated bill.
