Information about the Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme 3 (TAMS 3)

Under TAMS 3, farmers can secure grant aid of up to 60% for solar panels.  

Under the government's Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme 3 (also known as TAMS 3), farmers can secure grant aid of up to 60% for solar panels, up to a maximum of €90,000.  

Please note: 

  • The TAMS grant is only available for farm buildings, i.e., sheds, stables, etc. 
  • You can receive a grant aid of up to 60% for the battery, but you can only get a grant for a battery that's half the size of your solar installation.
  • You can only apply to install a solar system that generates energy equal to your previous 12-month electricity usage.
