Important update on estimated gas bills
Some gas bills issued on 13 October 2026 may have been affected by incorrect estimated meter readings.
We’ve identified an issue where some gas bills issued on 13 October were calculated using incorrect estimated meter readings provided by Gas Networks Ireland.
This means some customers may have received an estimated gas bill that’s significantly higher than expected. The issue only affects some bills issued on 13 October 2026.
We’re working with Gas Networks Ireland to confirm which customers are affected and get the information needed to correct their bills.
What do I need to do?
You don’t need to take any action right now. If you think your bill has been affected:
- You don’t need to send us a meter reading.
- You don’t need to send us a photo of your gas meter.
- You don’t need to contact Gas Networks Ireland about your meter reading.
- We’re working with Gas Networks Ireland to get the information needed to correct affected bills.
There’s no need to contact us solely to report that your estimated reading looks incorrect.
What happens to my bill?
We intend to cancel affected bills and correct them once we’ve confirmed the affected customers and have accurate billing information.
Gas billing has now resumed for bills issued from 14 October 2026.
What if I pay by Direct Debit?
For bills we’ve identified as affected, we’ve cancelled the bill to prevent the associated Direct Debit from being collected.
You don’t need to cancel your Direct Debit. Your future Direct Debit arrangement won’t be affected.
