Day Ahead Market Prices

These are half-hourly prices in kilowatt hours on the wholesale electricity market. These half-hourly prices are used to calculate the dynamic unit rate on your bill. Prices are set each day for 23:00 that night to 23:00 the next day. Tomorrow's prices will be published by 14:00 every day.

Prices below are excluding VAT, and match the SEMO website. Your base unit rate, standing charge, PSO Levy and VAT are not included below, but will be part of your final bill each month.

Default Bord Gáis Energy threshold is €0.32 / kWh (excl. VAT). Prices will never exceed €0.50 / kWh (excl. VAT) price cap. Prices are published on the Single Electricity Market (SEM) for Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Use your energy during off-peak hours

Shift your usage

Move high-electricity use (e.g. tumble dryer, washing machine, heaters, electric showers) to cheaper half hours where possible.

Schedule appliances

Use timers or smart plugs to run your appliances during off-peak and night hours, if you can.

Charge your EV overnight

Charge your EV overnight to take advantage of the cheaper night rate.
