What does remote disconnection and reconnection mean?

Where possible, ESB Networks will attempt to complete disconnection of electricity supply remotely.  

Since January 2025, where possible, ESB Networks will attempt to complete disconnection of electricity supply at a property remotely. This means that an engineer does not have to be present  and no access is required to the property.   

If you've recently moved into a premises where the electricity supply has been disconnected, or you've not yet contacted us and your electricity is disconnected, please contact us to register your occupancy. 

If a property has been disconnected remotely, ESB Networks will attempt to reconnect the electricity supply remotely. Please always treat your electricity supply as live.
