Bord Gáis Energy promises more Unmissable Rewards across the summer of hurling

2018 All-Ireland final Man of the Match Kyle Hayes joins Joe Canning on the #HurlingToTheCore ambassador team

With another exciting summer of hurling about to get underway, Bord Gáis Energy today unveiled plans that will allow its Rewards Club customers take advantage of even more Unmissable Rewards throughout the championship season. Kyle Hayes, a former ambassador for the Bord Gáis Energy GAA Hurling U-21 Championship (now U-20), the reigning Young Hurler of the Year and the Man of the Match from the 2018 All-Ireland Final, joined long term #HurlingToTheCore ambassador Joe Canning in Dublin today for the announcement.

Bord Gáis Energy Rewards Club customers will be able to enjoy unmissable GAA rewards throughout the summer. These will include exclusive access to match tickets, the best match day experiences, behind the scenes access, and question and answer sessions with some of the country’s biggest hurling stars at Bord Gáis Energy Cupán Tae events.

Bord Gáis Energy’s #HurlingToTheCore ambassadors will also lead a series of training camps this summer exclusively for Bord Gáis Energy Rewards Club members. Young players will be mentored by their heroes at some of the country’s top GAA grounds including on the hallowed sod at Croke Park.

Managing Director of Bord Gáis Energy, Catherine O’Kelly said: “At Bord Gáis Energy we know how loved hurling is in the communities in which our customers, and indeed our colleagues, live and work. Through the Bord Gáis Energy Rewards Club, we’re delighted to have the opportunity to offer our customers unmissable experiences and bring them closer to the action throughout the season.

We’re very proud of our long association with the GAA. This is our third year as sponsor of the GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Championship and eleventh as title sponsors of the GAA Hurling All-Ireland Hurling U-20 Championship. We’re committed to enhancing the Championship experience for hurling fans and our customers right across the country.

I’d like to thank our partners in the GAA for their continued support in bringing these initiatives to life, and wish our ambassadors, Joe and Kyle all the best for the coming season.”

Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael, John Horan added: “Bord Gáis Energy have made a serious commitment to hurling over the last number of years and have become synonymous with the game. Their continued support of the GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Championship as well as their long-standing sponsorship of the U-20 competition and the Legends Tours at Croke Park is a mark of their support of Gaelic games and particularly hurling.

“I would like to extend my thanks to Catherine O’Kelly and all the team at Bord Gáis Energy for their continued support and partnership.”

2019 marks the third year of Bord Gáis Energy’s sponsorship of the GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Championship, which will now continue for a further three years to 2022. Bord Gáis Energy is also title sponsor of the U-20 GAA Hurling All-Ireland Championship and is the sponsor of the Bord Gáis Energy GAA Legends Tours of Croke Park.
