· Sponsorship extended by three years to 2022

· Séamus Callanan, Eoghan O’Donnell and Mags D’Arcy launch the 2019 #HurlingToTheCore training camps at Croke Park

As the nation gears up for another summer of hurling, Bord Gáis Energy has today announced the extension of its sponsorship of the GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Championship, guaranteeing another three seasons of unmissable GAA rewards for Bord Gáis Energy customers.

Bord Gáis Energy’s Rewards Club customers and GAA fans will continue to enjoy the best match day experiences with access to tickets and Cupán Tae events at key Championship fixtures throughout the summer.

Tipperary star Séamus Callanan and Dublin’s Eoghan O’Donnell, both of whom have previously worked with Bord Gáis Energy as ambassadors, were joined by Wexford’s Mags D’Arcy in Croke Park today for the announcement.

Bord Gáis Energy’s Hurling ambassadors will lead a series of #HurlingToTheCore training camps this season, mentoring young players who will have the opportunity to emulate their heroes in Croke Park. The camps will be exclusive to Bord Gáis Energy’s Rewards Club members with some additional places up for grabs via Bord Gáis Energy’s social channels.

The sponsorship extension, along with the addition of the training camps, underpins Bord Gáis Energy’s continued commitment to its customers to deliver unrivalled and unmissable rewards for fans who are #HurlingToTheCore.

Managing Director of Bord Gáis Energy, Catherine O’Kelly said: “At Bord Gáis Energy we know our customers love hurling, so we’re delighted to be able to continue offering unmissable GAA experiences to Rewards Club members. We pride ourselves on being the Helpful Energy Company and are committed to making our customers’ lives easier.

Our partnership with the GAA, which spans over a decade, also enables us to make a positive difference in communities across the country. These are the communities in which our customers live and work and therefore it is an extremely important part of what we do as an organisation.

We look forward to our continued relationship with the GAA and to helping to shine a spotlight on the spectacular sport of hurling and its players.”

Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael, John Horan added: “I’m delighted to acknowledge today’s announcement of the extension of Bord Gáis Energy’s sponsorship that will take us up to the conclusion of the 2022 GAA Hurling Championship.

“Our relationship with Bord Gáis Energy is a long one, stretching back as it does over a decade with the U21/U20 Hurling Championship but also extending into the GAA Museum where they support our Legends Tour.”

“I would like to extend a warm welcome today to Catherine O’Kelly, the Managing Director, and her team and I look forward to more creative collaboration with Bord Gáis Energy in helping us bring the wonderful game of hurling to even bigger audiences both this summer and in the years ahead.”

2019 marks the third year of Bord Gáis Energy’s sponsorship of the GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Championship, which will now continue for a further three years to 2022. Bord Gáis Energy is also title sponsor of the U-20 GAA Hurling All-Ireland Championship and is the sponsor of the Bord Gáis Energy Legends Tours of Croke Park.
