Over half a million Bord Gáis Energy customers get market-leading rates on gas, dual fuel, and standing charges today

February 29, 2024 – From today, customers of Bord Gáis Energy, Ireland’s leading energy provider, will benefit from lower energy prices. As announced on January 17, Bord Gáis Energy customers will automatically get market-leading rates in gas, dual fuel, and standing charges on standard variable tariffs from today.

“From today, new and existing Bord Gáis Energy customers will see their energy bills come down and these reductions are in addition to any existing discounts a customer may already be enjoying. On top of that, all Bord Gáis Energy customers enjoy exclusive access to the Bord Gáis Energy Rewards Club where members are treated to thrilling competitions and exclusive offers for unique experiences like VIP events at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre and sought-after GAA Championship tickets.
“In combination with the November 9, 2023 price drop, a typical Bord Gáis Energy dual fuel customer will now save nearly €1,000 per year on their energy bills. Looking only at the reduction taking effect from today, a typical dual fuel customer of Bord Gáis Energy can expect to save an estimated €331 annually. Additionally, electricity-only and gas-only customers will, on average, save €190 and €141 per annum, respectively.
“Bord Gáis Energy provides a standard variable tariff energy product, allowing residential customers to benefit directly from falling rates. Unlike fixed-rate plans, where customers are locked into a set unit rate for a 12-month period, standard variable plans adjust prices in line with global energy price changes. Today's price reductions have been automatically applied to existing customers and are also available to those switching to Bord Gáis Energy.”
