Open a new electricity or gas account 

Sign up for the best plan online in just a few minutes.

You’ll need:

  1. Your contact details.
  2. Your gas GPRN and/or electricity MPRN. Learn how to find GPRN/MPRN here.
  3. A meter reading. If you've a smart meter, you may not need to provide this. Learn how to read your meter here.
  4. Your home address.
  5. Your bank account details.

Once you've signed up, you'll receive a confirmation email straight away. Once the registration process is complete, you'll receive our welcome pack by email. For more information on the switch process, see How to switch energy provider.

Opening an account for someone else?

You can add yourself as a nominated user during sign-up, allowing you to access the account on their behalf.

If there's no meter at the property

For electricity connections:

  1. Register your property with ESB Networks at esbnetworks.ie to get your MPRN.
  2. Sign up to one of our offers online in just a few minutes.
  3. Call ESB Networks at 1800 372 757 to arrange a meter installation.

For gas connections:

  1. Register your property with Gas Networks Ireland at gasnetworks.ie to get your GPRN.
  2. Sign up to one of our offers online in just a few minutes.
  3. Wait for us to contact you to arrange a meter installation.
